DIY Dish System Review

Is the DIY Dish System a scam or does it really work and cuts electric bill by up to 60%?

That’s what someone asked me because I have many years of experience as an electrical engineer and in the solar energy field in particular.

And after I say many marketers promoting this system by repeating what the sales pitch says, I decided to write this honest and unbiased DIY Dish System review in order to expose them and help people find a real way of cutting, or even eliminating their power bills.

Without further ado, let’s jump in!

Summary: DIY Dish System uses misleading facts about solar energy generation and overpromises the results you can get with it.

You can’t save up to 60% on your electric bill or power a complete home with DIY Dish System.

What Is DIY Dish System?

The DIY Dish System is a step-by-step guide that is supposed to show you how you can build a solar energy generation station that is higher in efficiency than the normal solar plants using few PV panels in a certain arrangement.

DIY Dish System

The spokesperson in the DIY Dish System claims you can save up to 60% on your electric bill in the next 30 days, and you can even power a complete home with this system without relying on the utility.

But how is that possible? And why haven’t big solar companies adopted this system yet.

How Does DIY Dish System Work?

DIY Dish System is supposed to be able to increase the panel’s efficiency by arranging the panels in a dish-like style, which will help accumulate more sunlight and direct it into a central point.

How DIY Dish System Works

Daniel claims that the secret is in the angle that you use to arrange the panels.

But is that true? Or is the DIY Dish System just a hoax?

This is what you will find out now.

Does The DIY Dish System Really Work?

Unfortunately, no, the DIY Dish System doesn’t work on increasing the efficiency of PV panels as claimed in the sales video on the DIYDishSystem.com website.

I’m an electrical engineer and I have worked on many solar projects that use photovoltaic panels, and I can tell you that you cannot increase the efficiency of PV panels with this kind of arrangement with a converging angle.

Is DIY Dish System a Scam

For this type of panels, you need to install all the panels in the same degree, and try to make them perpendicular to the sunrays as possible.

But because the sun might not be exactly vertical from one area to another, you need to place the panels at a certain angle, between 20-45 degrees, depending on the location.

But all the panels should be installed in the same angle, and not in a dish-like style.

These are similar to the misleading claims that are used to promote the Backyard Revolution scam that I exposed earlier.

You might think now:

Then What Does The Converging Angle Have to Do with Solar Energy?

I can tell you that with this system that uses PV panels, the converging angle does nothing but decrease the efficiency.

With this system, there’s no point in the dish-like arrangement because you don’t need the panels to reflect the light to a certain central point, but rather, you need them to absorb as much sunlight to inside them, which means that they all should have the same tilt angle.

The converging angle is used for a different technology that uses mirrors, and not PV (Photovoltaic) panels, in order to reflect the light into a central point with a unit that uses heat to generate electricity, and that system is called CSP (Concentrated Solar Panels).

DIY Dish System Principle

The founder of the DIY Dish System plans is misleading you with incorrect scientific information in order to sell you their plans.

And What about Going Off-Grid with DIY Dish Solar System?

You can’t do that either, as the PV panels provide DC power, not AC like the one we use at home, and you need an inverter unit to transform the electricity form DC to AC, and this inverter relies on the connection to the grid in order to provide a stable supply.

And anyway, if you want to supply all your loads with solar panels, you can do that, but you need to the connection to the grid so that you give the surplus to the grid during the day, and withdraw your needs from the utility meter at night.

And you need many panels installed in the right angle if you want to do so.

And with the converging angle arrangement, you would even need more panels!

In the last section of this DIY Dish System review, you will find out more on how to install such a system at zero cost.

And you would ask now:

Then What about All Those Positive Reviews on DIY Dish System?

I call these DIY Dish System scam reviews.

Unfortunately, these don’t tell you anything that is different from what you heard in the sales video.

These reviews where not created by people specialized in solar energy or in electricity in general.

These are just marketers who want to promote the DIY Dish solar system plans to you so that they get a commission if you click on the links in their reviews and buy it.

And even the sites where these reviews are written, none of them is related to energy or electricity, unlike my website, Bills Wiz, where I help people who to save on energy bills through what I learned as an electrical engineer.

DIY Dish System Plans Reviews

Any DIY Dish System Customer Reviews?

Nope, I couldn’t find any consumer reviews for the DIY Dish System from people who purchased it and saved on the electric bill with it.

Not on Trustpilot, and not on any other website that allows people to review products they purchased.

Probably because it doesn’t work as promised!

This is the same thing with many other programs that sell you on the dream of going off-grid with some incorrect scientific facts, like the Power Efficiency Guide scam I exposed earlier.

DIY Dish System Price

The cost of purchasing the DIY Dish System is a one-time payment of $49.

There’s are different upsells that would be promoted to you.

There’s also the cost of the panels, the battery, the connection cables, the inverter, the tools, and more!

Conclusion – Is DIY Dish System a Scam?

I wouldn’t call the DIY Dish System a scam just because there’s a money back guarantee where you can get all your money back.

But I don’t consider the DIY Dish System to be worth the money, time, and effort you would spend in building a generator that wouldn’t cut your bills significantly as promised in their sales video.

This is my conclusion of this DIY Dish System review.

100% Legit Alternative to DIY Dish System to Eliminate Electric Bill?

Yes, there are many ways and devices that can reduce your electric bill at home, but these should follow a certain proven principle.

For example, LED bulbs use less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs as they follow a new technology that is more efficient.

And special timers can help regulate the electric water heaters operation in order to save you money.

But if you want to significantly cut your power bill, or even completely eliminate it, then you can use renewable energy using solar PV panels for example, but you need to install them the right way.

And that requires specialists to design a complete system and install it for you.

And if you are concerned about the cost, then don’t worry, because there are companies like SunPower that can help you find financing solutions in order to install a solar panel system for your home with $0 down payment, and you can contact them to arrange for a free quotation.
